As part of San Diego Climate Week, we are hosting an event to provide outdoor communities with a sustainable gear exchange where they can donate, swap, and re-home their camping gear – keeping quality equipment in circulation and out of landfills.
Participate in San Diego Climate Week and join us for camping gear exchange at Little Bird Brewing! Learn about camping gear, meet other outdoorsy folk, exchange used gear, reduce waste, and drink delicious beer at a local brewery.

Schedule
Register belowto participate (free). Please bring gear to the exchange (max 10 items). You are not required to take any gear.
Dropping off gear: When you arrive, please drop off your camping gear at the registration table, and we’ll sort em’ out for the exchange.
12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Short presentation. Join us for a short talk and demonstration about camping gear, covering things like how to get started, the ten essentials, budget vs premium items, and how to recycle or donate gear.
12:30 PM:Gear Exchange begins. Browse and exchange gear, and meet fellow outdoorsy folks.
1:30 PM: Raffle winner announced. You’re automatically entered just by participating!
*Any leftover gear that does not find a new home will be donated to a local charity.

Items that are broken, torn, or missing key parts (e.g. tent with no poles)
Anything moldy, mildewed, or that smells strongly
Fuel of any kind (liquid, tanks, canisters)
Food and perishable items
Knives, axes, or other bladed tools
Underwear, socks, swimwear, or other intimate apparel
Electronics with dead/leaking batteries
Firearms, ammo, or bear spray/pepper spray
Gear swap rules
Please only bring a max ~10 items per person
Take about as many items as you bring (no obligation to take anything)
Gear must be clean, functional, and safe – no broken, moldy, or torn items
Disclose any flaws honestly
No recalled or unsafe items
Everything is “as-is” – no refunds or warranties
The organizer is not responsible for camping gear conditions or safety

FAQ
Please try to contribute at least 1 item to the gear exchange (no more than 10).
Try to only swap as many items as you brought (e.g. bring 4 items, take for 4 items), but no one will be tediously counting your stuff like at Costco.
That’s fine – extra gear at the end will be donated, and takers should be mindful of leaving enough for others.
